Flying Lotus - Beginner's Falafel

Flying Lotus - Beginner's Falafel from Oliver Brooks on Vimeo.

It's random stuff like this fan video that makes me run through the internet 10 times a day looking for dope shit, when I'm supposed to be doing work for this big, stupid "International" company with their "Business" of making "Machines"*.  I love you, internet.  Never leave me.

*Side-note:  My job is incredibly ironic (like, actual irony, not Lower East Side irony) given my fear of technology, computers and all machinery with a processor chip.  What if it turns out that I'm the dude that fills out the final TPS report for the microchip that eventually leads to the destruction of the human race?!  Given my luck, it's probably gonna happen, as my life has dissolved into somewhat of a Greek tragedy, minus the chorus.  Yeah.

Editors: Studio Brussel Acoustic Session

This is a big slice of fantastic, my friends.  Like . . .this needs to be recorded and and sold on iTunes fantastic (is there an acoustic Editors album that I don't know about?).  Head here to check it out.  Sadly, the site didn't un-ass the embedd codes.  DAMMIT, I love Editors!

Eminem x The Roots x DJ Jazzy Jeff - Rock The Bells (@ VH1 Hip-Hop Honors)

Now . . .usually I don't even bother watching "previews" or "snippets" or whatever the efph, let alone repost them shits . . .but this combo is like the FF&SS Fanboy Hall of Fame all on stage at once doing one of the greatest jams ever.  Well done, VH1.  I'm hooked.  You got yourselves a viewer.  This year's edition of Hip-Hop Honors is a celebration of the 25th anniversary of the founding of Def Jam Records. UPDATE: LOL @ VH1 for making sure Em didn't say the "...crappy lookin', nappy headed girls..." line. HA!

The original, by LL Cool J, after the jump (for you young and uninitiated folks out there)

U-N-I ft. Fashawn - Pulp Fiction Pt. 1

The art of story telling . . .

Our New House: RedBull Arena

Isn't it beautiful??
This is the view from my 2010 season tix in Section 101.

It's not often that something exceeds my expectations, and Red Bull Arena truly has.  I've read over and over about how close the fans will be to the field...but damn.  The front row of my (and the rest of ESC's) section is only 21 FEET away from the goal

Hey, Google Ads

Seriously . . .

All those billion dollar algorithms you jackasses have, and somehow you managed to come to the conclusion that ads for "bands" like Brand New and Metro Station were good fits for THIS blog??

Are you serious?

RedBull Arena Tour!!! F**K YEAH!!!

Blog's gonna be extra light today . .
This afternoon, I (along with my Brothers-In-Booze, the ESC) will be taking my first tour of RedBull Arena and picking out my two seats for 2010 season tickets (Sec. 101!!).  Can't tell you how amped I am to see this place.

It feels like I'm buying property.
I wasn't this excited about visiting my college for the first time.

Imagine if this league does get its shit together and becomes relevant . . .in 50yrs I could have some wanna-be hooligan grandkids getting in a fight about what it really means to be a "supporter", and lil' Faux III can hit 'em with "My grandparents had season tix in 'Empire End' for the first year at the Arena, yadda yadda yadda" and somehow that would make him hardcore.  Ahhh, yes.  These are the simple things I dream that make me happy.

And what's amazing about this is that my team is ABSOLUTE CRAP.  Crap, crap crap.  Yet, here I am, grinning like an idiot at the thought of dropping $544 + on a pair of season tickets.  Crazy, isn't it?

Lupe Fiasco - Fire

You're gonna have to listen to this 3 times before you catch everything.
Sounds like Mr. Fiasco has a point to prove . . .to somebody.
Have some.

Mac Lethal - Heart Uvva Pig

There really aren't enough angry dudes songs out there.

Theophilus London - Enjoy The Sun

Let me get REALLY blog-jerk (but honest) for a second:
Theophilus London is Kid CuDi for people who have actually seen a naked woman before...Kid Cudi without the whining about how no one "gets" him (as he sells out shows an sells hundreds of thousands of records)...Kid CuDi if his verses didn't come across like a grown man with the insecurities of a high school freshman.

That's Thoephilus London, folks.
Get on the bandwagon.

Mocky ft. GZA - Birds of a Feather (Remix)

I don't know what a Mocky is...but I know a jam when I hear one.
This is extra dope.  I wish it was about 3min longer, though.
Tell me you didn't smile at least twice during this song.  Go ahead...act tough and lie.

GZA-less origi version after the jump . . .
(still pretty jammarific)

Foreign Beggars ft. Guilty Simpson - Prove It

This is more about the beat than anything else.
Detroit's Guilty Simpson + London's Foreign Beggars.
Forgive me, but thug talk with a London accent just sounds ridiculous.

FLASHBACK: N.E.R.D. ft. Malice - Am I High (Euro Version)

Pardon me, folks.  I'm still going through a little personal shock dealing with this whole "N.E.R.D. adding a chick" thing.  Can you believe In Search of... came out 8 years ago (7 if you weren't up on the synthy Euro-spec original release)?

US version after the jump...

Joy Jones - Over

(Done seen it at Okayplayer)

This is a neat little ditty, isn't it?
And I'm a sucker for that bass line in all its forms.

Yoko Ono . . .Fergie . . .Rhea?!

::3 shots of tequila::
So . . . this young lady, Rhea, has been touring with N.E.R.D. . . and . . .it seems . . .
::re-gaining consciousness::
 . . .that she . . .is . . .now . . .a full-time...officiall...member of the group.
::passes out again::
Dear, sweet Xenu, help us.
I'm terrified.

I'm guessing you already know that I am the biggest N.E.R.D. fan on this planet...
I don't even know how to process this information.
A FEMALE VOICE in N.E.R.D.?!
Huh?  That's . ..it's . . .::collapse::
