2010 MLS Schedule Is Lookin' Riiiiight!

The gods of MLS scheduling have smiled upon New York Jersey on this day!

All 4 potential road trip games are on Saturdays:
5/1 - @DC
5/29 - @NE
8/21 - @TFC (first ever Saturday road game vs. Toronto)
10/16 - @PHI

A shame we have to wait so long to go to Philly, but it's better to wait and make sure their stadium is finished.  I really didn't want our first game with them to be at The Linc.
There really are some tremendous opportunities to do a 5 Families tour this season.  Above all else, I'm excited for the chance to finally get up to Toronto.  Can't tell you how much I hate their fans.  I'm convinced that the league has been deliberately avoiding a game @TFC that NY fans could travel to.

Virgin Racing Launch VR-01

Nope...my semi-obscure, "that's only for Europeans" sports obsessions are not only limited to soccer, my friends.  I am a bit of a Formula 1 nerd as well.

It's launch season, the time when F1 teams old and new make a big production out of showcasing their cars for 2010.  Quadzillionaire lunatic, Richard Branson's new team, Virgin Racing, took to the internet for their launch today, and I must say that's it one of the most beautiful car's I've ever seen.

I'm very curious to see what ol' Moneybags can produce in F1.  I'm even more hopeful that some sort of "I can out-crazy you" rivalry develops between Branson and Red Bull's Dieter Mateschitz.  Good times.

I don't care about your Gucci belt or whatever the fuck.  I don't care if you have De la Soul on wax.  I don't care what "streetwear" clothing label sponsored your mixtape.  I don't care!  None of that shit covers the fact that the music is as predictable as a calendar.

Hip-Hop has hit a similar point that rock did in the 90's, where everyone's primary focus was on being different, yet there were 50 bands with the exact same definition and execution of this different-ness.  Avoiding clichés by becoming a different cliché.

Random Thoughts #4: Gym Jams

 

After forgetting I owned the album some deep soul searching, I finally figured out where Til The Casket Drops falls in my rotation:  Gym Jams

Despite my overt Neptunes fan-boy status, and affinity for the Clipse in the past...I just couldn't latch on to this latest album.  It wasn't that I (completely) disliked what I heard...its just that by now, it all sounded repetitive.  Like I heard all this shit before.  And a sure fire way to get me to ignore your jams is to put Cam'Ron on a single.

Anyway...I finally put this on my iPhone last night, and let it breathe in the gym.

Damn.

Perfect.

I have a personal theory that says when you live in or are from a neighborhood that contains a dope boy or two...and you're not one of them...you look like an asshole rockin' drug rap in your car.  But in the gym?  Shiiiiiit.  Clipse was bangin'!  Don't believe me?  Press play on "Door Man" right before your next heavy set.  You can lift a pregnant gorilla.

But I digress...If you don't have Outasight's FREE LP, Further, by now, you should be ashamed of yourself.  I've had it since December and finally got a chance to peep it in one sitting today.  Top notch.
