Learning Greek In Advance of MLS Self-Destructive F**k Fest
You hear that clickin'?
It's me ordering the Greek edition of Rosetta Stone on the internets.
When MLS pulls it's own pants down, and proceeds to [edit: graphic sexual reference] itself and its fans with the inevitablty goofy labor deal breakdown . . .I'm jumping ship to Aris FC.
Just sayin'.
Let's say there's a lockout/strike (whichever, because honestly, who cares which side does the damage) and MLS misses a few months. In a World Cup year, when soccer interest is at its apex. What are the real odds of it ever coming back with any strength, in terms of investment dollars and fan interest? As it is, no one (except Seattle) gives a mainstream shit about MLS anyway. What percentage of league fans are hardcore supporters like you and me? 10%? Sure, we'll be back...and we'll be there by ourselves.
Get your Euro snobs skills up, ladies and gentlemen.
It's time to pick backup "clubs".

This shit is starting to worry me. I mean, Jeezus, a lockout in a World Cup year? I feel like national interest in soccer is really growing in this country (due to Confederation Cup, and growth of MLS) and that all it will take is a good performance in South Africa and the announcement in Dec. 2010 of a winning bid for 2018/2002 to finally send it over the top. Now this potential lockout could destroy all that, and seriously damage our World Cup chances because you could potentially have Donovan, Ching, Casey, Bornstein, Rogers, Marshall, Conrad, etc. (Holden & Clark too, if they don't find a Euro club) not playing in the months leading up to the World Cup. MLS and the Player's Union have to figure this shit out now!
As for the whole Greek thing, sorry man, there's still hope of landing Henry though.
Good point, the negative effect on the domestic Nats never even crossed my mind.
The whole situation is crap. Sadly, neither side seems to understand how catastrophic a work-stoppage will be to the game/league.
