Dr. Dre ft. Eminem, Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Stat Quo and Ca$his - Syllables
Eminem x Dr. Dre x Jay Z x 50 Cent { Syllables } [dirty/noDj] by Dj EZ' NiG
Maybe its because I'm from NJ, but I honestly couldn't care less if Dextox is ever released. I've never been a big fan of Dre's beats, and more than anything, I could never understand how someone who's made millions off of ghost-written rhymes and beats has been given icon/pioneer status in Hip-Hop folklore*.
That said...I love the concept of this song. Could have been a classic without the last two dudes.
UPDATE: Now word is creeping out that this was actually recorded a few years ago. Wow.
* If you want to counter that with a "What about Diddy?" argument, go ahead. But if you take Diddy seriously as an emcee/producer...then I don't know what to tell you.

A Note on this Game to Star Trak Jibberish
The idea of Game on Star Track still makes me feel ill.
But let me offer up an early prediction (with no hint of sarcasm):
Within the next 6 months, this signing and Game's The RED Album WILL lead to a monumental battle with Game and The Clipse on one side and 50 Cent and G-Unit on the other. Write it down. Take it to the bank. I'll go a step further and say it will be the most genuinely relevant and significant battle since Jay-Z vs. Nas . . .and the outcome of that battle will forever change the value and definition of "street cred" as well as "internet rapper" vs. "radio rapper". I couldn't be more sure of it. Trust me. I will be linking back to this post as an "I told you so" before the summer.

50 Cent - Do You Think About Me
This is the THIRD post I've made about this song...
50 himself has been the reason for none of them.
Just sayin'.

THANK GOD FOR INSTRUMENTALS: 50 Cent - Do You Think About Me
Mad smoove, ain't it?
I know I'm not the only one who's heard some of 50's new shit, and wished he wasn't on it so they could jam in peace. Fear not, there is a solution...and it actually comes from 50 himself. He's put up download links for the Before I Self Destruct instrumentals.

Old Dude Thuggin' & The Brilliance of Curtis Jackson
::Standing ovation for Curtis Jackson::
(no sarcasm whatsoever)
I haven't been a fan of 50 Cent the rapper for years, but Curtis Jackson, the evil mastermind is one of my favorite people in entertainment. He's a friggin' genius. I've always respected his slavish devotion to Machiavellian principles.
I'm sure you're all aware of this whole Beans vs. Jay bullshit. I haven't bothered to blabber about it here, because it's insanely pointless. 1) Why the hell is Beans still thuggin', he's like 40. Grow up. 2) Jay handed that man the world on a platinum platter and he pissed it away in the name of street cred.
ANYWAY . . .who comes swooping in to "save" Beans, throw rocks at the throne, and finds a way to make personal gain from a feud that has NOTHING to do with him? 50 Fuckin' Cent!
::another round of applause::
In 6 weeks time, 50 is gonna turn this whole mess into the biggest shit on the web, sign Beans, cash in on his 15min of heat, and turn it all into sales for his OWN album. BRILLIANT. If people are dumb enough to walk around with puppet strings hanging off their back, I say there's nothing wrong with usin' them shits. WELL PLAYED, SIR!
As for the song itself...this beat is an absolute demon! I need every East Coast emcee worth a damn to drop whatever they're doing and get on this shit IMMEDIATELY. That shit makes me feel like I might be able to spit a hot 16, son!

50 Cent ft. Eminem - Psycho
Uh-oh!! Looks like the S.S. 50 done sprung a leak! We are now at DEFCON 3, ladies and gentlemen! You know that the only reason I'd even consider posting this is because of Em's verse...so go on ahead and skip to 1:40. Ain't like 50 said anything worth hearing.
UPDATE: I suppose I'm obligated to mention that this is a Dr. Dre beat, but SERIOUSLY...is Dre relevant?? Why was he ever relevant? Why are "we" waiting for another album from him? He doesn't write rhymes, and 90% of his beats are crazy dull. ZZZZZZZZZZ.

The MASSIVE "Soooo, What Did I Miss?" Post (Pt.1)
Haven't been on the internets since last wednesday afternoon. Let's see if anyone has done anything remotely interesting since then . . .
Since I'm extra lazy, this probably all gonna happen in a weird reverse chronological order with stuff from earlier today up top, heading down to stuff from the end of last week. I'd apologize, but I just ate my first fast food burger in months and I've got "the boak" as the Scottish would say. Sue me.
For added surprise / unintentional comedy / "dag, son, you mad late" quality...I'll be writing all this in "real time" as I actually see it all for myself the first time. Let's light this candle.
Slaughterhouse / Joe Budden:
If you didn't already steal it (I know, I know), I believe the actual release date for Slaughterhouse's self-titled debut album is today. I'm a bit of a nerd about these things so A) I haven't listened to the album fully yet and B) I'm almost nervous to do so, because as a Hip-Hop fan ( in 2009, perhaps that should read "apologist", "sympathizer" or "historian") I'm desperate for this album to be RIGHT. I don't see how it couldn't be...but you know. Crazier shit has happened.
Also, Joe Budden has released probably he least publicized mixtape of his career today, Escape Route. I'm guessing it just got swallowed up by the Slaughterhouse love-fest. Side note: This mixtape is where the craaaazy Budden verse and that song "We Outta Here" finally appears. head over to Amalgam Digital for more details.
This was pretty good. The latest version of "I Know Rap People" feat. Slaughterhouse:
Wait . . .what the efph?! This Slaughterhouse vs. Wu-Tang shit is going on AGAIN?!
There is NOTHING cornier than a bunch of over-30's playing cowboy in public and over the internet. THIS shit is whack and borderline coonish. Let's move on.

50 Cent's penchant for using of the word "content" to describe his music should give people a prety clear view on his motivations. But of course, fans are young/slow/blissfully ignorant and never pay attentions to anything artists are actually saying any so . . .whatevs, man.

Fabolous on Chelsea Lately
There's something genuinely bizzare and hillarious about Chelsea Handler interviewing rappers. It never disappoints. And on another note, when White people talk to/about Fab and pronounce his name "properly" . . .an angel gets its wings. And who knew Fabolous had a sense of humor?!

The Return of Felt
Murs and Slug (from Atmosphere) are about to drop the third in their series of collab mixtapes. Each edition is helmed by a specific producer and is dedicated to a special woman (Pt.1 - Christina Ricci. Pt. 2 - Lisa Bonet). No word yet on the producer or muse for round 3.

J.Y. - Bring It Back
Kinda fresh.

You know what . . .rather than do this all at once, I'm gonna chop all is up in pieces throughout the rest of the day/evening. Check back later.

50 vs. Kanye . . .again?
That 50 Cent fellow really does crack me up. He hasn't made a song that I liked in about 7-8 years, but he's one entertaining bastard. An arrogant, evil [marketing] genius.
We all remember him and Kanye going back and forth as they released albums on the same day a few months ago. It looks like it's gonna happen again, as both artist are set to release their next albums in December.
Personally, I love the WWE hype machine that goes into this stuff. Especially 50 vs. Kanye. These two and their "feud" are the ultimate microcosm of the changing face of hip-hop and the Black American male image in general . . .but I won't bore you with all that. The point is, it looks like we have 50 Cent vs. Kanye West: The Rematch, and I, for one, have my popcorn ready and will be enjoying the hell out of it.
