VERY BIG Kanye West News!

THIS is how you start a Saturday!!
Some big, big news from Mr. West to kick off the weekend:

1.  Calling it "G.O.O.D. Fridays", Kanye announced that either he or someone from the his label's very potent roster (which recently added the Clipse's Pusha T and Cyhi Da Prince) will be releasing new music every Friday from now until Christmas.  Love it!  Very much waiting for the first Pusha/Kanye joint.

2.  Kanye also announced that he will be releasing a 5-song EP with...Jay-Z...enitiled, Watch The Throne.  The first song, I assume, was the "Power" remix.  Song #2 is (literally and figuratively) "Monster" with Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj and Bon Iver.  Yeah, you read that right.  Shit bangs kinda tough.

Now....I'm sure you can assume how i feel about Rick Rawse Ross and everything he's ever recorded....but this isn't about him.  It's about the nasty verse that Jay dropped on this thing.

I still don't like Ross, and this song is still pretty hollow...
but, dammit, that beat is just way too crazy.
 
Is it possible for arrogance to have a sound?
Maybe its just me and my ridiculous ego, but that beat is like an instant trigger for flagrant acts of Diddy-esque cockiness, and I love it.

On the bright side, this beat and P's "I'm lookin' good...YEAH!" ad-libs have a profound ability to brighten one's mood...so I gotta let this live.

Chrisette Michelle ft. Rick Ross & Juelz Santana - Epiphany (Remix)

Anyone else notice that lately Def Jam has been doing a GREAT job of throwing their artists together into jams?

The original is my jam (love me some Chrisette...can I get them digits?). This one kinda works, but Juelz seems to be strugglin' with the beat. Whatever. I applaud the exec. that put this together. Good job, record executive.

(I'd also like to note that I think this is the first time that either "Rawse" or Santana has appeared on this blog. Have to say I'm proud of myself for that.)
