Blu ft. Ms. Jack Davey - Everything's OK

Blu - Everything'sOK (feat. Jack Davey) by sicxfeetdeep

Flying Lotus on the track.
There was no way that J*Davey and Blu could be on tour together and not release something, right?  Internets, prepare yourselves.  Blu fans are gonna hate this...unnecessarily.

Erykah Badu - Gone Baby, Don't Be Long

Erykah Badu - Gone Baby, Don't be Long from beeple on Vimeo.

Directed by Flying Lotus.
Yet another great Badu single that leads me to ask myself why I own everything she's ever done, yet never find myself listening to it.  It's really strange.  Who knows?

Busy P & DJ Mehdi Present: Let The Children Techno

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
About damn time!  International law should demand at least one Ed Banger compilation very 3 months.  Sadly, we have to wait untim Feb. 14 to get up on this ::wink wink:: but whatever.  It will be jammed, and it will be jammed with the utmost of gusto.

All new and unreleased stuff from the usual suspects of Busy P, Mehdi, Mr. Oizo, Mr. Flash, Breakbot Cassius, Feadz & SebastiAn, as well as some feature work from Flying Lotus, Discodiene and a bunch more.

Man. this news just made my month.
Valentine's Day is relevant again!

New Flying Lotus

See?!
I keep TRYING to tell you that a MySpace account is (unfortunately) still worthwhile.
It has all the jams/news.

Flying Lotus has let loose 3 new jammies on his page, "Data Entry", "Lullaby" and a remix of Weezie's "I Feel Like Dying" that actually makes it quite listenable.

Flying Lotus - Beginner's Falafel

Flying Lotus - Beginner's Falafel from Oliver Brooks on Vimeo.

It's random stuff like this fan video that makes me run through the internet 10 times a day looking for dope shit, when I'm supposed to be doing work for this big, stupid "International" company with their "Business" of making "Machines"*.  I love you, internet.  Never leave me.

*Side-note:  My job is incredibly ironic (like, actual irony, not Lower East Side irony) given my fear of technology, computers and all machinery with a processor chip.  What if it turns out that I'm the dude that fills out the final TPS report for the microchip that eventually leads to the destruction of the human race?!  Given my luck, it's probably gonna happen, as my life has dissolved into somewhat of a Greek tragedy, minus the chorus.  Yeah.

Love Lockdown (Flying Lotus Remix)

I know, I know . . .you've heard a thousand of these.
So have I. This one is very different though.

Flying Lotus had a hell of a 2008. Or should I say "is having a hell of a 2008", because I wouldn't be surprised if he still had more work to drop in the next few days.

Oddisee 101 &102

I want to make sure that you pay attention when you read this post, so I'm going to make a bold claim:
Washington DC emcee/producer, Oddisee, is the most valuable figure in the traditional hip-hop scene since J-Dilla. Let that marinate for a minute.

Doubt my claim? I invite you to check out the 2-disc set he dropped a few weeks back, 101 & 102. I don't exaggerate in the slightest when I say that Oddisee is the only person out today that that has a legitimate place in both the Top 5 Emcees or Top 5 Producers conversation.

If that wasn't enough argument for you to buy this double album, let me run through (some of) the guest appearance list: Little Brother, Flying Lotus, M.E.D., Jean Grae, Kenn Starr and Don Will of Tonya Morgan . . .damn.

Reefer - Let It Go (Flying Lotus Remix)

I know nothing of this Reefer . . .but whenever I see a link that says "Flying Lotus Remix", I click on it. As always, it was well worth the trip . . .and "trip" is a pretty good way to describe this.

Check it out (from Stereogum).

Radiohead Remix Project

Radiohead are leaving the remix duties for "Reckoner" up to the masses. All the important bits of the song are available to download on iTunes. From there, any and everyone can create their own mini-masterpiece and upload it to the remix project site where fans can listen and vote on who's got the hotness. It's brought out some decent names already, including Diplo (thaaaaaat shit is the spicy brown mustard!!) and Flying Lotus. Should be interesting.
