21 Minutes of Tron Legacy Soundtrack

Find more artists like Hollywood Records at Myspace Music

First time I will be going to a movie just to hear the music in the background.  I don't know shit about some Tron.  The only Tron I ever knew used to sell bootleg DVDs and knockoff cologne oils at the barbershop.

Pharrell Is For The Kids

Mr. Williams' jam-a-lam for the upcoming kids movie of the same name, Despicable Me.

Now . . .
As my reader...you know that I am admittedly King of the Neptunes fanboys...and this is for a chirr'ens flick.  But P . . .auto-tune, son?  Really?  For the kids?  C'mooooooooon.

Adrian Younge & The Black Dynamite Sound Orchestra - Shot Me In The Heart

This might be the best thing I've seen all year.
The song is from the score of the greatest/worst movie of all time:  Black Dynamite

I could go on for an hour about the pure golden magic of that flick.
I'm pretty sure Black Dynamite is loosely based on my grandfather.

You're All Wrong! Avatar Was The Jam!

Avatar from christopherstorm on Vimeo.

Soooo...people went to see Avatar...with 3 of them D's...and didn't like it?!
Do you also hate sunny days, warm cookies and kittens?

FACTUAL L. JACKSON:  Not at least enjoying Avatar is a sure sign that you're a Clint-Eastwood-in-Gran Torino-level miserable bastard.  Yes...I get it...the whole thing boiled down to a flimsy allegory for the war in Iraq about 2/3rds through.  I don't care.  Yes, it's incredibly ironic that the man who directed the greatest anti-technology flick of all time, Terminator, also directed this anti-tech, anti-"progress" movie in a totally unnatural, completely machine generated fashion.  I also do not care.  What were y'all expecting, some Oliver Stone shit?  Did the usher fool you into thinking this was a documentary?  Good grief, America!  I'm THE most cynical, angsty 27yr old alive, and even I enjoyed the hell out of Avatar.

Daft Punk: Troning It Up

I don't know shit about Tron.
But if it involves Daft Punk, speed chases and neon...I am 100% down and will gladly slap my 10 beans on the movie counter to jam out with the other nerds and electro heads in the theater.

Terry Kennedy: Street Dreams

A bit of a preview for the soon-to-be-released film, Street Dreams, TK's story of growing up to become a bro-fessional skater out of Long Beach, CA. Movie opens on the 12th out West and the 18th on the East Coast. I wanna check it out, but I bet I have to to to some random dingy theatre in a trendy Brooklyn neighborhood (or some such thing) to see it.

Damn kids and their indie movie theatres.

Transcendent Man

An upcoming documentary about Ray Kurzweil's views on mankinds's future.

One question though:
Is Kurzweil trying to give us a heads-up on what's to come...or pushing the issue because there's a good chance he'll be the one developing alot of tech that pushes us into some weird cyborg future?

If so, Skynet will have a dope sound system.
Excuse me as I go buy more ammo and call my therapist.
Fuckin cyborgs. GRAH!

"Obsessed" Trailer

::author looks to the horizon and sees the approaching shit storm::

Now . . .you know what I'm thinking . . .but I'm not saying it.
I will say that this should be required viewing for a certain socioeconomic group in today's new America.

Transformers

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen from Bay Films/Michael Bay Dot Com on Vimeo.

Maybe it's just me,but until today, all the trailers I've seen for this bad boy have been . . .shit.
Random dudes with handycams in theatres and whatnot.

See it in magical HD.

Personal note:
The sub-title for this sequel is Revenge of the Fallen. I hope and pray that it means the Decepticons get a chance to knock some stuff around this time. Star Scream deserves some spotlight! Maybe this will be like the Star Wars story line, where in the second . . .

. . .I'll stop now.
There MIGHT be a women reading this. Gotta maintain my flyness.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE HD

Am I the only one who isn't that excited by this?
Anyone?
Anyone?

Eh...I wasn't a huge fan of the other X-Men flicks and spent 3 days in a nerd-rage coma when it was announced that Jackman would be playing Wolverine in the first place. No surprise I'm not too amped about this one. On the bright side, Gambit is finally around!

THIS is the stuff that Netflix accounts are made of.

The Wrestler

"The Wrestler" Movie Trailer 2008 from Fred DeMetrovich on Vimeo.

This is the movie I was talking about this weekend. It's playing in that theater next to the White Rabbit on Houston St. (what the hell is it called???).

I say we sees it.

Funny Games on DVD

Been a little too happy lately?
Holiday season ruining your edge?
Post-Obama euphoria got you smiling more often than you'd like?

This movie is the solution.

I'm not even going to say whether or not it was a good movie, because I'm still not sure yet. What I WILL say, with absolute certainty, is that by the end of this film, you will absolutely despise everyone in it (except the little kid). You will be consumed with a rage and furor unlike anything you've experienced from something as simple as watching movie. There will be a special dark place in your heart created for the "villains". Short of History Channel pieces where Hitler or James Earl Ray make appearances, there have never been 2 people I've hated more on my television . . .that didn't start for DC United.

From "Prince" to "Pharaoh"

Varitey.com has the details on Will Smith's newest project . . .

Will Smith puts on 'Pharaoh' hat
Actor set for Columbia's 'Last' film

Will Smith may next morph into a god.

"Braveheart" scribe Randall Wallace will write "The Last Pharaoh," a Columbia drama crafted as a vehicle for Smith to play Taharqa, the pharaoh who battled Assyrian invaders in ancient Egypt.

Smith, James Lassiter and Ken Stovitz will produce for Overbrook Entertainment.

Smith, who has long wanted to play the pharaoh, brought Wallace the Taharqa story.

The film will focus on his battles with Assyrian leader Esarhaddon starting in 677 B.C.

Smith next stars for Columbia in "Seven Pounds," a reteam with "Pursuit of Happyness" director Gabriele Muccino that Overbrook produced with Escape Artists.

Wallace will next direct a Mike Rich-scripted Disney film about Triple Crown-winning racehorse Secretariat and its owner, Penny Chenery. He also just signed on to a Jerry Bruckheimer-produced Disney adaptation of the WWII battle saga "Killing Rommel," which Wallace will write with author Steven Pressfield.

"Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist"

This look interesting as all get out (that's what the kids are saying these days, right?), and I'm glad it isn't set in friggin' California like every one of these type of movie . . .whatever that type actually is. You know what I mean. Coming-of-age comedy booze cool people romance quarter-life crisis adventure fest.

Only issue is that everyone in this movie looks like they're about 19 years old. If you wanna do a proper movie about the goings on in that part of the City, shouldn't everyone be at least 24? Ah well.
