World Cup Draw (FF&SS Live Freak-Out Edition)

In case you can't be near a TV...don't miss out on all the stress.
I am EXCEEDINGLY nervous about this.  As much as I love the World Cup, I always have a hard time handling the weight of anticipation, fear, and the general highs and lows that come from the temporary xenophobia and hyper-patriotism that come with international soccer.

If we draw something like Brazil, Ivory Coast and Portugal, I will officially lose my shit.
Completely snap.
Bright side:  Getting drunk and making a proper ass of myself in Newark's Ironbound section.
Sooo, I'd have that going for me.

UPDATE:  You know what?!  I'm going live with this bad boy, so feel free to join me (after the jump) as I spazz out over the US's impending disaster of a draw.

Some Asshole Twitters During His Own Wedding

The level of frustration I feel towards my own generation saddens me.

2 Pills From Relapse Refill

"Elevator" - Meh.  Sounds like an album reject.
"Buffalo Bill" - Eh.  I'll still wait for the new mood of Relapse 2.

Hurry up, Marshall, we're all gonna forget that you can spit.

Sene - EyeCry

GODLee Barnes (a.k.a. Blu) on them beats.
Have some.

Nope...not even gonna pretend that I know who Sene is.
This jam elevates him to "let's find out" status, though.

Chapel Club

I'm in the middle of scouring NME for new shit to listen to, and came across Chapel Club.
I'll say it for the 10,000th time:  God bless the English.

I'm not even completely sure how to describe the band to you.  They aren't unlike anything you've heard before...but maybe that's exactly why I like them.  They lie somewhere in between Arctic Monkeys and Editors.  Not necessarily in terms of quality...but "theme".

Sex Offender Shuffle

The Cribs - We Share The Same Skies (on The Letterman)

Great way to top off an otherwise prosperous evening?
Randomly seeing The Cribs on Letterman.
Really didn't know anyone in the US listened to them.

And no, you're not crazy.
You do know the fellow in the hoodie.

Phoenix On Le Blogotheque (Mad French, Ain't It?)

"1901"

Phoenix - 1901 - A Take Away Show from La Blogotheque on Vimeo.

The band responsible for what is possibly my 2nd favorite album of 2009 got all up in paris and jammed some jams in the middle of the street, as is customary on Le Blogotheque's Take-Away Shows.

"Lisztomania" / "One Time Too Many" and "Long Distance Call" after the jumperific...

Kid CuDi - Cudderisback

CuDi over Vampire Weekend, eh?
Inevitable, right? Yup.

CuDi is getting dangerously close to the "I'm sick of hearing you bitch about the same shit on every song" limit.

Mutemath - Backfire

VERY underrated album that you don't own for some reason.
What if I told you it got a 9 at Pitchfork?
It would be a lie, as far as I know...but still.
What if I just told you that anyway?

Hot Chip - One Life Stand

This new Hot Chip album is shaping up to be pretty decent, ain't it?
Not released until 2/9, though.  Ahhh well.

FLASHBACK: Weathermen - Left It To Us

Whoooooo!!!  Haven't heard this in a minute.
Just came up on shuffle.  Made me slap my boss and write a hot 16 about it, son!

CARDBOARD CITY

Weathermen = Cage, Aesop Rock, Yak Ballz, El-P & Tame One

RJD2 ft. Kenna - Games You Can Win

That's a pretty potent combination.
Thumbs up.

New Black Moon

DISCLAIMER:  Only East Coast Hip-Hop heads over 25 will get this joke.

That's some funny, funny shit.
Putting Cipha Sounds & Rosenberg on in the morning is the best decision anyone has made at Hot 97 in a solid decade.

Snoop Dogg ft. Brandy & Pharrell- Special

It's 1999 again, yo!

Snoop, you done got me again.
Every album this dude manages to put that one smooth ass jam on.  I have an inner conflict over how much I dislike this comic book coonin' clown (yup, I said it.  shuckin' and jivin' mutha...n/m), then I end up hating myself and jammin' the shit anyway.  Here we go again.
